Requirements for marrying to a Moldovan citizen.

In order to conceive a marriage with a Moldovan citizen on the territory of the Republic of Moldova, the foreign citizen is required to submit the following documents

Information regarding the period of stay of foreign citizens in the Republic of Moldova, based on the provisions of the Law of the Parliament nr. 151-XVI from June 08, 2006.

On June 8, 2006 the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova has adopted the law nr. 151-XVI. According to the legislative act „ Starting the 1st of January 2007 the visa regime for the citizens of the member states of the EU, USA, Canada, the Swiss Confederation, Japan, Norway and Iceland is abolished.”

Foreign citizens and stateless persons in order to stay in the Republic of Moldova will have to have a medical insurance.

Foreign citizens and stateless persons who will be staying temporary on the territory of the Republic of Moldova will be obliged to obtain medical insurance during their entire stay in Moldova.

The citizens of the Republic of Moldova have the possibility to possess two passports.

According to the amendments to the legislation, the Moldovan citizens have the possibility to possess two passports at the same time, with the same identification number.
